Grip safety idea

I like the idea of a memory bump or palm swell grip safety, but I don't like beavertail grip safeties as a whole. I was thinking that it would be possible to buy a beavertail grip safety with memory bump (e.g. Smith and Alexander) and then remove material on the sides and tip of the upswept portion until it was shaped similar to Colt's rat tail grip safety.

My goal would be to have a ring style commander hammer and a rat tail grip safety with a memory bump....

    Would it work?
