Howdy all; A few months ago I decided to sell my carry piece. My Beretta 96FS. I carried it for a few years and now wonder how I did! It was large and rather uncomfortable. Granted, it WAS a good gun. I was then in the market for a new gun. It was time to start the research process. I really wasn't in a hurry. I had a little pocket gun to carry with me.... but I knew I wanted another .40 at some point. Some time went by. Welcomed a new baby girl to our little family. ...and one night, sitting in the car at midnight, with a newborn in the backseat, waiting for my wife to get off work... I decided I better step up the research process. hehe. I liked a lot of different guns out there, but for what I wanted, I kept coming back to a Glock 23. I read a lot, I watched videos, I visited gun shops. Found a Gen3 for a great price and grabbed it, along with a 'Blackhawk!' holster. Last night, I put the holster on and took the Glock with me. Great Fit! The Holster fit snug against my side and the Glock felt just right. Not too heavy, not too light. It didn't dig into my side while I drove.... All in all, I believe I made a great choice for a carry gun. I can't wait to go out and do some shooting. Luckily, I have several choices on where to shoot. From an actual range to a large area where I can set up multiple targets, allowing me to practice moving and shooting. In any case, Greetings! If you're looking for a carry gun or need info from someone that has carried for years, please don't hesitate to ask questions. Happy to be here among other Glock owners. Might even meet some of you at a GSSF meet.
