    Howdy all;

    A few months ago I decided to sell my carry piece. My Beretta 96FS. I carried it for a few years and now wonder how I did! It was large and rather uncomfortable. Granted, it WAS a good gun.

    I was then in the market for a new gun. It was time to start the research process. I really wasn't in a hurry. I had a little pocket gun to carry with me.... but I knew I wanted another .40 at some point.

    Some time went by. Welcomed a new baby girl to our little family. ...and one night, sitting in the car at midnight, with a newborn in the backseat, waiting for my wife to get off work... I decided I better step up the research process. hehe.

    I liked a lot of different guns out there, but for what I wanted, I kept coming back to a Glock 23.

    I read a lot, I watched videos, I visited gun shops. Found a Gen3 for a great price and grabbed it, along with a 'Blackhawk!' holster.

    Last night, I put the holster on and took the Glock with me.

    Great Fit! The Holster fit snug against my side and the Glock felt just right. Not too heavy, not too light. It didn't dig into my side while I drove....

    All in all, I believe I made a great choice for a carry gun.

    I can't wait to go out and do some shooting. Luckily, I have several choices on where to shoot. From an actual range to a large area where I can set up multiple targets, allowing me to practice moving and shooting.

    In any case, Greetings! If you're looking for a carry gun or need info from someone that has carried for years, please don't hesitate to ask questions. :)

    Happy to be here among other Glock owners. Might even meet some of you at a GSSF meet.

    Congrats on the new 23. She is a great pistol. I have one, myself, and love it to death. It was also my first Glock. Enjoy your new toy, shoot the snot out of it, and welcome to the forum..

    Welcome! You did good with your choice of the G23. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I was blessed by having two to raise, and now have three beautiful grandaughters.

    I purchased my first hand gun a month ago - Glock 23 Gen 4. I'm obsessed with it and couldn't be happier. I'm looking for a conceal carry holster. Any recommendations?

    I'm trying a 'Blackhawk!' Serpa at the moment. The gun snaps in and requires you depress a button on the side to release it. The button is even in the perfect spot so your finger is in perfect line to rest on the trigger guard.

    I thought about a nice leather unit, but the local selection wasn't great. So far though, I'm happy with this 'Blackhawk!' unit. It was only about $40.

    Time will tell, though. I've only used it for a couple days. For the price, though... it's a good little holster.

    Thanks Jon. I am going to try the BlackHawk SERPA CQC w/ Carbon Fiber Finish. I can get it for $47.00 and change. Funny thing is I have to go out of state to CCW!
