Greatest ride ever

Discussion in 'Moto Club' started by norton, Dec 18, 2004.

  1. Whats the best ride you have ever taken?
    My top favorites include
-riding along the Deleware Water Gap
-the back road that leads from Daytona up to Flagler Beach, palm tree lined, about 1/2 mile from the ocean.
-highway 135 in southern Indiana, from Indy to the Ohio River.
-highway 67 and 309, that leads from home to the Mid Ohio Sports car track.
-The tri state around Chicago, in the rain, on a friday night, heading up to Elkhart Lake.
-coming home with a buddy, from a local dealership, where we both just bought new bikes. It was 32 degrees, with an ice storm just starting. Yikes!
-blasting down interstate 75, at night, heading to Atlanta for the superbike races.

The Smokey Mountains in Tessessee and North Carolina.

Highway A1A on the east coast of Florida all the way up through Myrtle Beach, SC, and on up to Wilmington, NC.

There is some nice scenery on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Kentucky, too.

The bike was a new '84 Gold Wing Aspencade with Diamond Custom seat and helmet to helmet intercoms and stero sound system. We were planning on riding it to the Grand Canyon then next year, but children came along and we sold the bike. That first child is now 19 years old. Those rides are now long ago memories.

The Dragon's Tail at Deal's Gap, NC is considered by many (including myself) to be one of if not THE best MC road in the world.
