Grabbed an old 3-screw Ruger Blackhawk

    Grabbed this unmodified 3-screw 357 Blackhawk in a pawn shop today. Probably late 60s. I could only get them down to $450 but couldn't pass it by. Pretty good condition.

    Those things have a quasi-collectible status so I think that you've done well.

    Quasi-collectible is a good way to put it. It wasn't on my list but there it was. I wouldn't have got it if it was sent in for the safety recall.

    They are certainly the Rugers to go after. :cool:

    Here's my 1967 41mag that I bought last year. Its in beautiful shape. Rugers old SA revolvers are the best the company ever built, in my opinion:)

    There's a 3-screw Super Blackhawk in good shape at my local shop and I was thinking about picking it up. They want a bit too much for it though...

    Nice, that was the first handgun I bought. Got it from a friend's dad for 100 bucks in '94, came with a paper bag full of insanely hot handloads that completely immunized me to recoil. I really need to grab another one.

    I think 3-screw Blackhawks are among the nicest looking, best shooting SA revolvers ever built.

    It shot really well at the range. Very accurate. I'm pleased with this old shooter. Serial# puts it 1970.
