Iam seeing Govt contract Moss 500 with matrixs type bar code on the side M4 type stock 1.25 sling and parked hard ware why dont theyhave the heavy wall barrels . Are they the ones that got returned to Mossberg because they were ordered wrong ? Or are they DEA contract . They are 18 in parked finish 6 shot My box has a end tag that reads 50476 but under it theirs also 50474 part number.

  2. They probably didn't put a heavy wall barrel on it because it wasn't required on the contract. I have no clue as to what overrun contract they are from.

Not all .mil contract shotguns are heavy barrel. The A1 is, and some versions of the 500 are. Most of the Army's shotguns are not heavy wall.
There are something like 7-10 NSNs that Mossberg has provided to the .mil and not all of them specify A1 equipment.
Most of the government contract shotguns are 500s with many not having the heavy barrel, metal safety, or metal trigger guard.
