to purchase another pistol. Everytime I go to the range
this happens. I met one group that loves there
sig sauers. Still my glock 19 has never failed me. Right
now I am entertaining the thought of either the g34/g17.

I love to shoot the glock 19 & I know the bigger pistol
will be even more fun. Personally I would love to have
a glock 45 caliber, but the price of the ammo is to much.
I also don't shoot enough to justify loading my own ammo.

BTW I own the gen 3 g19. From what I can tell they must
have worked out all the quirks for the majority of folks. I
am not reading a lot of negative reviews regarding either of these models.

I would say a G34 to pair with your G19, then you have a solid carry gun and a great HD/Range gun in the G34. The Tactical models G34/G35 are my favorites of the Glock lineup, you just have to shoot one to understand.

    Good luck whatever you decide.

    I got a G34 a few months ago and really like it. Also have a G27 & G36.

Have and use a Lone Wolf 40/9 conversion barrel in the G27. The G34 if the best shooting of any pistols that I own other than a Colt Delta Elite.

Get the 34. I'm sure you'll like it a lot.

I emailed the gun shop that I like to deal with
for availability on the g34. I got a reply back
telling me they could have it in by Wed. I didn't
ask for the price since I mentioned I was going to
come by the store. He just opened a new shop.
He is a police officer & was working behind his house
when he was off. He beats all the local gun dealers
& I don't mind helping someone out like that.

Anyway I digress to say I had asked him what his
thoughts on glocks were when I made my first purchase
from him. He said they are reliable, but he preferred
sig sauers over any other pistol. Soooo when I got to
his shop this afternoon he quoted the price of $586
for the g34. He suggested I go with the gen 3. Okay
    here comes the curve ball.

He was curious why I wanted that pistol & I told him
I liked the g19 & heard that the g34 was a very accurate
pistol. He said he didn't think of glocks as being that
accurate vs other pistols. I mentioned that I met
a Doc he had sold pistols to at the range, and his son
was telling me how he really liked his p226 mk25. That
is when he said he would be glad to order the g34, but
if I wanted accuracy I would be much happier with the
p226. His words,"It is crazy accurate". He also mentioned
that you pay for what you get.

He didn't put the glock down, he just stated that sig
would be tighter & I would be happy. He compared it to
driving a real nice vehicle vs lower end.

The difference in prices was for a mk25 around $865.
Even if that is a good price you are talking about
approx $300 more for a pistol. Before I spend that much
I have to shoot the pistol. With glock I know what I
am getting. Sorry for being so long winded

I have shot the Sig P226 and it is as he says "crazy accurate". But to me, it is not nearly as fun as my G17 or my G19. There is something about the Sig that does not feel right to me. Like you said, you should shoot the Sig before you come to any conclusions but from my personal experience (which isn't really all that much as I am just getting into hand guns) the Sig isn't nearly as satisfying.

I don't think that the Sig would be any more mechanically accurate than any Glock. The Glock can, surprisingly I must say, turn in sub 2" groups at 25 yards from a rest. I think the G30 has produced 1" groups at 25 yards! The Gen4's are somehow more accurate, if only a slight bit.

Word of advice, take any verbiage you hear at a gunshop with a large grain of salt. People tend to be biased for their favorite gun and against any others. Go with what YOU want, that's all that matters. I would say the G17/34 is a toughie. I would personally go for the 17, but the 34 is great. It sounds like your leaning towards a 34, and I would say go for it. I'm going to be ending up with the 26/17 combo, but a slightly bigger 19/34 combo is definitely a winner!

Buy the 34 if its just for range/HD. $300 more for just a fun gun is crazy IMO, but my budget may be smaller than yours.

I shot a 226 this weekend for the first time and will say that it just went to the top of my list as a non-Glock that I will own next, but I will buy it used to save some money. The one I shot was a police trade in. It points different, but at the same time, it has "familiarity" to it. First two shots were dead bulls eye.

I ordered the g34 gen 3. Its on they way.

BTW I found out the local gun shop is an authorized
sig sauer dealer. I guess he probably makes a better
    profit selling sigs vs glocks.
