Sent 3 of my EMP mags off to be flush fit. Lost a round of capacity, but makes a big difference to me for CC. I LOVE this little gun.

I sent Rich one mag and got it back today. Very quick turnaround. I fits fine and I can't wait to get to the range and test it out. Maybe Monday. If it works (and I have every confidence that it will), it will be the carry mag in the pistol. I 'll keep the full size mags as is for reloads.

Quick question for you my friend regarding your EMP.

For you, what was your decision making process to go with the EMP caliber?
I see they make the EMP in the .40, 9mm, and 45ACP.

I am a Glock fan and also a 1911 owner. There is nothing like the ergonomics of the 1911 format.

I am looking into obtaining an EMP, but I am stuck on what caliber to get.

Any opinions on how the EMP shoots, for a micro pistols, and any upgrades you would get on one.

Where did you get your mags done anyway? Looks good.

    Thx.

I have the EMP 9mm and I feel the recoil is the same or less than my Gen 4 G19. I was surprised at how smooth the recoil and how easy is was to get back on target.

On the 1911Forum, there is a guy named Log Man that does the mod on the magazines. $20 per magazine with $7 shipping

The only draw back I've seen on the EMP so far is the ambi safety. I think it sticks out to far, so I ordered an Ed Brown tactical low profile single side safety. The SA Custom shop wanted $80 plus the safety and 2-4 weeks down time. I am going to have a gunsmith at my LGS take care of that for me.

EMP is available in 9mm (alloy frame) or .40 (steel frame), no .45acp.

They carry REALLY well and are a smooth shooter. I had mine set up with no ambi, thin Alumagrips, 10-8 rear, Harrison trigger, and Log mags. Lots of folks shoot them stock. Personal preference. The beauty of the platform...

Actually, Springer makes a Loaded Micro Compact:

I know how the 45ACP fires in a 5 inch format, but I am not sure about a 3inch!

    Any thoughts?

I sent 3 mags to Log Man about 3 months ago to have them flush fit and I am totally impressed with his work. His turnaround is unbeatable as well. I am in RI and I sent them out to him in CA on a Thursday morning and I got them back on Monday afternoon. I love carrying my EMP 40 and the flush mags make it so much better now.

This makes #4 for me in the 3" 1911 format and all have been 100%.

EMP and Micro are completely different guns. Personally, I wouldn't want a .45acp in 3". The EMP was designed around the 9mm/.40 round and has significant design changes. Quack broke down all the differences and maybe he can chime in.
