Yes, got it last Monday and I am in a predicament. I do not know what to carry or where to stash it. I am thinking SOB or Rh at 3 o'clock. When I instinctively go for the gun, those are the most fluid motions.

Here is the scenario. I am 6'0" tall and weigh about 295. I wish I could say its all muscle but it would be a lie. I don't usually wear jeans but I can. I have no issue with them. Cargo pants or carpenter jeans are my favorites and of course, their shorts counterparts. I wear loose shirts but not tucked in. I weare a belt too. So, what would you wear? Any fat boys out there packing heat that is not blood pressure related? I really don't want to print but at my size, everything prints.

I am leaning towards a G27, Officers model, or something like a S&W shield.

    Help!

Get the G27, a good IWB holster and try it between 3:30 and 5 o'clock positions. 3:30-4 are the most comfortable for me and reduces printing with a 19 or 23.

    A G36. The .45 ACP cartridge is a well-known stopper.

I had not thought about 5 o'clock. I put my gun back there and sat down and it is indeed comfortable and that is without a holster. I like that idea.

What kind of holster do you use, and is it comfortable for long wear?

6'0", 295 here. I carry a G23 or G30 in a TT GunLeather Pancake. Conceals very well and it is excellent quality.

Take a look at a hybrid holster. Comfortable and makes reholstering easier. Their are many who can attest to each of the following. The big 3 would probably be Old Faithful, Crossbreed and Theis.

You know, a lot of people would say that at 6ft, 300 lbs, why would you need a gun.

By the way, I'm not one of them. I carry a 27 everyday of my life.

I'm 6 foot 250 pounds & have some squish. I carry a glock 26. Lately, I've been doing so in a Crossbreed Supertuck. It is extremely comfortable & no, it doesn't print at all. You have to dress right to carry concealed. If IWB, wear a size bigger pants & make sure you get a good solid gun belt. I can't stress that enough. The holster, check out Crossbreed Seconds for a big discount. If you go with one of these hybrids, don't give up on them right away. I didn't like mine at first. But after I adjusted the cant and found the sweet spot, about 2:30 for me) I absolutely love this holster. Also, wear a shirt that is not too tight. Tight shirts tend to print. If you go OWB, I like Raven or x-concealment. They hold the gun tight. Again, you'll need a loose fitting shirt and one that hangs low enough to cover the gun. Hope this helps.

One thing I forgot to add, if you have love handles like me, avoid high riding holsters. Our squish will tend to push the handle of the gun out in these types of holsters & cause major printing issues.

I'm about your size and carry either a G19 or G26 all the time - usually the 19.

My two preferred holsters (out of plenty of different ones) continue to be my Tommy Theis IWB (leather & kydex hybrid) and my Raven Concealment Phantom for OWB. Both conceal quite well under just a loose shirt at 3:30-4:00 position.

I really never thought about carrying OWB for carrying. That would probably be most comfortable but I think IWB is the way to go. Maybe because that is how everyone I know carries.

I definitely have some good info here to go on. I really like the feedback and features of the Crossbreed. Looks like I have a wait but that is ok.

And I forgot to mention - a real gun belt!
Took me a while for this to sink in  , but overall I think it's as important as the holster.

I notice alot of these IWB holster look similar so I am guessing its personal preference. It never hurts to have more than one so I think I will order one for my G26 for now. If it fits well I might get a 30S or 36 and upgrade the holster as well.

Anyone here do the build it yourself kit from old faithful?

I'm shorter and heavier and don't recommend 3 o'clock if you're pear shaped like me. I use those jeans with the elastic expanders hidden in the waist with an IWB holster at around 4 o'clock. This position also prevents conflicts with seat belts in cars.

I know about weight and being uncomfortable, but I recently loss 25 lbs. and continue to diet. I always found, for me that in the waist band became uncomfortable after a short while. I have found the Galco Concealment on the waist band the most comfortable. I carry about 5 o'clock. I like my Glock 27 Gen4 because I get the firepower in the caliber I want, plus 13 round, Glock 23 mag. and 15 round Glock 22 mag in the carrier. Check it out.

I weigh about 250 last time I checked, I prefer darker shirts, as I noticed they don't print as much.

The thing I'll say about printing is it's probably not as bad as you think. I've been carrying over a year now, and to date have had 1 funny look at a restaurant from an older gentleman, aside from that nothing.

A slight bulge or print might be noticeable to a trained eye, but doesn't scream "GUN!!!" to most people. I lived in Iowa where open carry was legal with a permit anyway, and I just moved to Montana where you're wierder if you DON'T carry in some form or another.

Don't wear tight ass pants, if you don't need a belt you're probably gonna need bigger pants. I have to add a pants size to get my glock to fit with my holster. Otherwise it's pretty uncomfortable sometimes. After getting new pants a size up to account for the equipment it's hardly noticeable.

IWB at 3 o clock works great for me, although I can't promise that a shirt would never catch up on my gun and reveal it, so I don't carry at work.
