Well I decided it was time to grow up and get a 1911. I carried a glock 23 for a while and actually shot it really well. But after shooting numerous high end 1911's I decided it was time to change things up. There's just something about that single action trigger, that I love oh so much! I did a lot of research and decided Dan Wesson was the right direction to go for my price range... Boy was I right!

I saw this cbob go up on a local forum for $1,220 and pulled the trigger.:D Got a custom Theis horsehide holster and have some Sarge grips in the works. The sights that the previous owner had on were for IDPA, and while they are great for target shooting, I think I'm going to get the ledge straight 8 night sights.

So far I've put 350 rounds down range and I am in complete and utter love. The fit and finish is like virg... well you get the point. The bobtail's ergonomics feel better than almost any gun I've held, with the exception of the cz 75 P-01. So far I've shot Hornady Critical Defense, Atlanta Arms & Ammo, and today, Blazer aluminum cased rounds with out a single malfunction.

Here is a target from today. 50 Rounds from 7 yards to 25 yards. As you can see I need to work on my 25 yard grouping, but from 7-15 I made one nice hole.

Thanks. It is crazy how you can get the attention to detail that you would see in Wilson Combat and Night Hawk for $1-2k less. Don't get me wrong WC and NH are well worth the money and I would love to buy a NH in the near future. I can't wait to get the custom grips. Oh it shoots ok too ;)

Congrats! The Cbob is one of my faves.

Here's my 10mm Cbob. All I did to it was get a trigger job and install Ed Brown slim grip panels and it fits me like a glove.

very beautiful gun, I saw that on the trader as well, but I got an RO instead. It seems like there is a splurge of 1911s popping up for sale over there.

Thanks, I would love to shoot the 10mm version. How does it handle the recoil? I'm used to .40sw so the .45 is a nice change for me. My follow up shots are much tighter/faster.

It's not as bad as I thought it would be. I have Arthritis in my hands so some days it's a bit much but it's not too bad most of the time.
.45 feels like a 9mm after shooting the 10 though :whistling:
