Visiting relatives in CA I was asked to help the grand mom of my nephew to learn to shoot a handgun for personal protection.

Biggest problem I've had with students of that age is digit strength and recoil issues.

I did a morning training session, mostly working on trigger control and focusing on the front sight.

Off to a local range (P2k?). Rented a nice clean LCR .22. Put up the largest target there, reversed side to us. Distance was 15' (length of her bedroom).

Really surprised and pleased. She showed good trigger control and she focused on the front sight! 6"/7" grouping in the center of mass!

Back to the first gun store we'd been to earlier and granny bought herself a new Ruger LCR .22!

    It was a good day!

Funny, the pull on this LCR was quite nice.
