Last time I checked, wasn't Fort Bragg in North Carolina, not California?

Fort Bragg, CA was a fort back before the civil war, now it is just a city. Fort Bragg, NC is a US Army Fort in North Carolina.

Fort Bragg is considered the "big city" up in Mendocino county. It has a movie theater about the size of my house. To say the murders rocked the community is an understatement.

    I love the comments.

Luckily, my CNN troll account is alive and well.

"...Officers who gunned down....". CNN scumballs. He was shot while involved in attempted murder, not "gunned down".

All well and good, guys.....but I didn't read any mention that the deceased was beginning to turn his life around. I'll bet he was working on his degree in CJ, and planned to go to law school.

His family will miss him, but law abiding citizens in CA won't!

  13. I also didn't see the LEO were wearing their hats. Major infraction.

Anyway, good riddence to bad DNA.

I think you meant, his family will miss him, but luckily law enforcement didn't...

When I was a deputy in Mendo, Jere Melo helped me on numerous investigations involving timber theft, tresspass MJ grows, missing persons, etc. If I needed a key to a gate 30 miles away from town at 0200, Jere would be there. Jere would find a chainsaw that bounced out of the back of a pickup, take it home, sharpen the chain, then find the owner and return it. I once asked him about getting a firewood permit from his company so I could stock up for the winter. Jere pointed to a pile of split wood in his yard and told me to take what I needed... That's the kind of guy he was.

Bassler got what he needed. RIP Jere.
