Go around the shops at MCS, they probably have all sorts of ear muffs.

You can also try earplugs if you want cheaper or electronic ear muffs, although way more expensive.

Look around Handyman or ACe hardwares. Madami Taiwanese/locally made earmuffs, wala pang P300. Madami ding earplugs, mura din la-ang. ;)

Pero kung japorms, Peltor Shotgunner na. Nasa P1600 din ata yun

basta safety equipment, get the best available your budget allows!

it is good practice to double plug. soft foam or rubber ear plugs plus quality ear muffs. the ear muffs cover partly the mastoid bone where dangerous sound levels can still travel to your inner ear by bone conduction. specially sa mga ported barrels like in open guns! tignan ninyo si gundog, bingi na! hahaha!

lalo na sa eye protection. dapat polycarbonate para di mag-shatter ang lenses. dapat ANSI rated

ear muffs: pro-ears, silencio, peltor, AO safety, etc.
eye protectors: rudy project, oakley, wiley-x, bolle, kontrol, etc.

AO Safety ear muffs was selling at around $20.00 when we went to Home Depot (Tools Section) in CA in 2003. There were lots of them as well as AO safety glasses.

The same AO safety gear were sold at Wal-Mart in Dickson, TN. There were even 3-in-one AO safety glasses (gray, clear, and yellow) for $20.00

I was surprised when they were sold at three times the price at Twin Pines while you could find them at hardware stores in the US cheap.

I still have my Peltor H9 ear muffs that I bought in CA in 1990. Just took care of it well, wiping them with a damp cloth after use.

Hirap lang kapag double plug (ear plugs and muffs), hindi ko na marinig yung RO. So i always ask for a sound check before "Are you ready?". :)

Which do you think will last longer among the two brand? BTW, Peltor is cheaper than Pro-ears by half. Dyan po sa atin magkano po? Thanks Kabayan.;)

As EC has previously posted, read the Db ratings on ear muffs when buying them. The cheap ones may not protect your ears and in the long term, you'll suffer permanent hearing damage.

Also, make sure that eye protection should have a safety rating by a reputable agency such as ANSI or CSA, so that they won't shatter when hit. AO, UVEX, Harley Davidson are good industrial products, although not as fashionable as the ones being sold at optical shops.

Personally, have tried silencio earmuffs and they are okay but I just dont like the feeling that somethin else is pressing on my head other than my hat, so I switched to earplugs. besides, they are cheaper.

You need to actually try out the electronic muffs because of it's shallow ear cavity due to the speakers. Minsan, depende sa tayo na tenga mo, masakit yung muffs at di pede gamitin tuloy-tuloy.
