    Thanks for posting this link. An excellent short and concise article about when and, more importantly, when not to use deadly force. I'm taking my concealed carry course this weekend and will be thinking of this.

    Obviously an exception to the "unavoidable" part is the Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground.

    But still, very concise and appropriate.

    Kind words appreciated, but those principles were in the law before I came along.

    It's all measured by the yardstick of the reasonable person doctrine. Retreat, even where required, is only demanded if it can be accomplished with complete safety to oneself and others within one's "mantle of protection."
