I am interested in buying some Speer Gold Dots.
I see they sell Speer Lawman ammo in 50ct boxes.
    Is this the same ammo?
Anyone have a recommendation for the best website to order this ammo from
    124gr +p

It is not the same. Gold Dot is a hollow point where the Lawman is round nose. Check out the ATK Speer website regarding their ammunition. lots of information there. Also, you can purchase Gold dots by the 50 round box online. One of the places that comes to mind is sgammo.com.

Lawman is the excellent range FMJ ammo Speer offers that is designed to have the same shooting characteristics as the LEO/self-defense JHP Gold Dot ammo the company makes.

The 9mm 124-grain Lawman is by far the best range ammo I've ever shot in any of my 9mm pistols.

Lawman and GD are not the same ammo.

Balistically, the Lawman line is designed to mirror the Gold Dot line in terms of velocity, trajectory, etc, to the extent that is possible. As indicated above, the GD line is a premium personal protection / law enforcement ammunition offering, where Lawman is a practice / training offering that mirrors the GD line in external ballistics.

Lawman is good stuff for practice. If you ever come across a good price on it grab some.

All posters are correct, great practice ammo. Great quality. Close mirror to the Gold Dot line. Virtually the same gun functionality and feeding characteristics. Lawman works great, Gold Dot will work great. Of course as others have said, much diffefent terminal ballistic performance.

  7. As others have said, Lawman is what you practice with and Gold Dots are what you carry.

I buy mine from sgammo & ammunitiontogo.

i enjoy shooting Lawman in .40 180 gr but its not the cheapest.

does fire just like the GD 180 gr

  9. I recently ordered 200 rounds of Gold Dot 124gr +P 9mm, GDHP #53617, for less than $24 per box of 50 from MidwestHuntersOutlet.com. This is from their Law Enforcement catalog and is one of the highest rated SD loads in 9mm. They are currently showing the price at $20.29 and in stock.

    That's fairly typical.
