I was at my local shop and they installed a set of these sights for $100. After looking a little closer at part numbers it appears they installed GL101Y which is not the part number Trijicon lists for a glock 21. They say its part number GL104Y. I was wondering if there is a difference between the two and did my shop mess up?

    Thanks!

Thats a real good price. I think the shop did mess up though. I think it has something to do with the gun being a wider. It looks like the only glocks that have that part number are the .45 acp's. I would take it back and have them put the right one on.

You were correct. The sights for the 45's are wider. Went to the shop and they exchanged them but I have to wait two weeks to shoot :(

I thought 'Y' is yellow& 'O' is orange? As far as a .45, I believe they would be different. You got it straight though with your shop.

    Here is Trijicon's oficial response....

    Dear Jason,
The difference will be in the height of the front sight. The GL104Y has a lower front to compensate for a heavier round. If you are shooting a lighter weight round like a 185gr you should be ok for the most part. Thank you for your patronage to Trijicon products. Have a good day.
    Sincerely
