This may help some Sub Club members along with some potential Sub Compact newcomers decide which magazine Extension/Rest will best fit their needs. Here is a picture of my G27 and a few of its available magazine Extensions/Rests from aftermarket suppliers which will also fit the G26, G33, And G39 model GLOCK Sub Compact pistols.

*1. Scherer also offers a +0 with the same type of checkering.
*2. Pearce also offers a +0 with no checkering.

Tagged for future reference - my G27+PG2733 / G19 pic comparison

Whenever the subject of extensions comes up, the question often arises about the size difference between compact and subcompacts.

Two pics below of a G19 and a G27. The 27 has a Pearce Grip PG2733, a plus one extension. I posted these in another thread in answer to a question about height difference.

Glock says the height of a G19 is 5.00 inches. In their diagrams they show meauring the height from the top of the sight to the bottom of the magazine.

You can see my ruler in the top pic. My 27 with the extension has a height of about 3/16 of an inch less than the 19.

At the back, the Pearce extension doesn't add any height to the 27, and the 27 is about 3/4 inch shorter.

There are a couple of other differences besides size. The compact and subcompact do not have the same shape backstrap. The 27 has stippling higher on the its backstrap. Also, the placement of the fingergrooves is not the same. The subcompact actually has more room for the top finger on the grip.

Just a note on the Pearce +1, I prefer it to the other extensions because it matches the texture pattern on the G27 exactly. It looks more like an actual extension of the gun rather than an after market part modded on.

Edit, I should clarify that's with the GEN 3 models, I don't know about previous gens.

wow, didn't realize that the +1 pearce grip extension was actually shorter than the +0. i put the +0 on my G27 and it greatly improved my grip which improved my accuracy. i may have to get a +1 to try it out, just to keep my baby small, neat and deadly!

Keep your baby small with the GAP finger rest extension

    www.concealablecontrol.com

I've tried all the others except the 26XL, and find the grip with the GAP, while two fingered, is very secure, and a improvement over the stock floorplate without making the gun harder to conceal.

That really depends on which +0 you own.

Pearce has the PG26 (small smooth +0) which is about the same height in front as the PG2733 (smallest +1 in .40, and textured)

The Pearce PG26XL (larger textured +0) is taller, and may be the one you own.

    http://www.pearcegrip.com/glock26XL.htm

    PG39 is +2 in .40

    This shows PG2733 and PG39

    http://www.pearcegrip.com/glock27.htm

The PG26XL and PG39 came out in the last couple of years. The rest have been around for ages.

    Hope that helps.

Finally, if your goal is keep it small, don't use any of these. Use the GAP Finger Rest Extension, and forget about a pinky rest.

Ok I just got a +2 extension, looks like the glock one... this thing doesn't have a hole for the locking pin thing on the "follower", also I am trying to use this on an "asian" g22 mag, the follower doesnt fit into the glock extension at all... has anyone modified the follower so it fits the extension... and should I drill a hole for the retaining nub?

If it is the Glock extension, it says Glock and "+" on it, and it uses its own special insert. The insert locks the extension in place but does not use the hole in the bottom of the extension.

You post is a bit confusing to me. The magazine follower is what goes on the "top" of the spring, and contacts the first round loaded. It has nothing to do with the extension.

Maybe you meant to ask about the "insert" ?

I would not use an extension that did not have a locking insert.

There are many cheap knock off extensions, and maybe you found one. I have no experience with any of the Asian mags.
