I hope this is the right place to ask this. I've been through the data base 3 times, and I couldn't find my serial number prefix. I was trying to find out when my G19 was made.

    Serial number is DDL23XUS

I apologize if I missed it. Can any of you experts be of any help?

    Thanks,

    Brian

I've searched with no results. I picked up a G23 with serial #28xECP. I've never seen the letters at the end. Could this be a replacement frame? Anyone have an idea on a date of manufacture? I'm going to call Glock on tomorrow but wanted to see if there was an answer here today. Thanks!

If the letter you have blocked out (the first) is a "G", then yes, it is a replacement frame. Replacement frames all get a single "G" prefix.

Find the closest serial number prefix in the list, yours falls in there.

If you have a little manilla envelope with two shell casings in it , check the date on the envelope. It is close to the manufacture date.

And lastly (and most importantly) ask GLOCK, they will tell you the manufacture date. 770-432-1202

Thanks for the reply. I didn't mean to put the # symbol so close to the serial #. The serial number is: 282ECP (3 numbers follwed by 3 letters).

That is a new one on me. PLEASE call GLOCK and ask them - then post what they say. That is very interesting. Does the number match on the frame / slide / barrel?

According to the special notes we have been provided by others those mostly seem to be police department issued. See 04000DPD for Detroit PD and 591AZZ for Virginia Beach Sheriff.

Please contact GLOCK and let us know.

Brian, keep in mind that the list, and website database, is filled in with owner supplied information. It just means that nobody with your prefix has provided us details before you. Contact GLOCK, US to get the info and come back here or the website and be the first to enter it!

With having the website working well I have got pretty relaxed about updating the list on here. Thanks for prompting me to do it.

The lists on page 1, and the website, have been updated. The list just hit 6000!

    Glock 17 Gen4 (Blue Label)
    Serial: VPV805
    Country on Slide: Austria
    Spent Case Collection Date: 07/09/13
    Purchase Date: 08/09/13

Note: Pistol was fired right after pickup; sales counter straight to the range. For the first range session (after a check for barrel obstruction and basic function check) the G17 Gen4 was shot BNIB out of the box.

No ejection issues over the first 150 rounds of Federal Champion 115gr FMJ ammunition. Extraction of spent cases is strong. Ejection pattern to the right 3 to 4 O'clock position.

I second this. I know that I got to the point of letting the list pile up on me - until finally I abandoned it altogether.

Thanks for keeping it going for us!:wavey:
