Glock original barrel question.

Discussion in 'GATE Self-Defense Forum' started by Jim in Illinois, Sep 2, 2010.

  1. Is it safe to use +P ammo in my new Glock 21SF.45acp with a stock Glock unsupported chambered barrel? Thanks, Jim...

My personal experience, observation, and opinion is that your 21 series Glock should handle factory +P .45 ACP just fine. Lots of police departments, including LAPD, seem to be experiencing no breakage of any kind with issue +P .45 ACP in those guns. I know of one good-size department that went with +P 230 grain Winchester when it adopted the G21 as standard issue, because one of the authorities at Glock recommended it on the grounds that the more robust cycling would make the gun even less likely to malfunction from "limp-wristing" by weaker shooters.

Just for your own peace of mind though, Jim, it wouldn't hurt to swim upstream here at GATE to JR's section, the GATE Glock Pistol Forum, and ask him for a second opinion. He's the resident Glock pistol expert.
