Glock FDE Spray Paint

Discussion in 'General Glocking' started by Tornado_Racing, Oct 5, 2012.

  1. I'm looking to try and match my "black" weapon light to the Glock FDE color. The Glock FDE seems darker than the Magpul FDE, almost like it has more brown in it.

Any suggestions guys? Fusion primer spray base and Testors model paint?

If Krylon Fusion doesn't make a close match I think your idea may be the best option.

  3. I'm gonna go on a hunt tomorrow. I don't want to totally FDE the weapon light just 2-tone it like my FDE G19.
  4. Any update on this? I too am curious. I'm having a hard time finding a color to match glocks "fde". I looked at duracoat but they have so many brows and flat dark earths its hard to tell. Plus they aren't giving out samples right now.

The closest I can find just by looking online is Duracoat Bushmaster ACR cheek piece.

I think Brownell's Aluma-Hyde II seems to match, but I don't have anything painted with it to hold up and check at the moment.
  6. Cerakote doesn't look close either. It's hard to tell without seeing samples.

Cerakote's patriot brown is pretty close I believe.

Check out the huge FDE thread back when Lipsey's did their first run. There was a guy that posted his weapon that was coated and it looked to be an exact match.

    That might have been it.
