Glock 41 & 42

Discussion in 'General Glocking' started by ChrisJn, Jul 16, 2013.

  1. Double stack .380... Hmmm. If it doesn't fit in pockets it's gonna tank. Why not a double stack .32 or .25 while they're at it.

Glock is not stupid. The Ruger LCP is one of the best selling handguns today. It was listed on budsgunshop as their all time bestseller. They want a piece of the .380 pocket pistol market. Although I can't see why they wouldn't make a single stack 9mm too.

I know there is already another thread about this, but now that GLOCK has confirmed that a GLOCK 42 is coming, I feel like there's need for a new thread.

GLOCK has put out a teaser image for the GLOCK 42 (I believe found in Guns & Ammo). It does say "January 2014" on the image; it doesn't say if that's the announcement date or release date (obviously SHOT Show in that same month). Other members of this forum have stated that the GLOCK 42 will be a single-stack .380. This is being reported from multiple people, however this isn't yet confirmed by GLOCK.

GLOCK hasn't yet teased the GLOCK 40 or 41. Reports on this forum state that the 40 will be skipped (in order to relieve confusion between the .40), and that the 41 will be a "Practical/Tactical" .45 AUTO (comparable to the GLOCK 34 and 35).

    Discuss.

So, they are making a polymer cased lighter, to compete with the Zippo?

Glock could sell Glock toothpaste and Glock fans would buy it.

No matter what these pistols turn out to be they have a market.

I mean there already are Glock fan boys who will cram a G26 in their pocket and declare it a pocket pistol.

When S&W came out with the Shield I looked at it, it wasn't as small as the Kahr PM9, really too big for a pocket so it was a kind of a in-betweener size that didn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Same thing with the 3.3 XDs

If Glock just creates a Shield sized Glock I think that's a waste. If they make a Glock the size of a Diamondback DB9 or Kahr's PM9 then I think they have something.

I can't find a new P-32 anywhere. George Kellgren is interested in inventing and designing, not so interested in manufacturing...

If Glock made a 7oz .32 ACP pocket pistol - I'd buy it.

Glock won't be able to make them fast enough as these will sell quicker than free beer at a Super Bowl.

RLZ, thanks for the second pic, I didn't even see the outline in the first pic...

I've seen the end and there is no light. Like deadly snakes, death rattle shakes!

I really like my P 238, but if this is what I hope it is that sucker is gone.

  14. It is a new Glock app that fires up on your smart phone. Remember Glock's tease about the social website. Kinda like that.

If it is a single stack 9mm. I hope people by the 1000s trade in there G26 for the new single stack. I would like a good G26 for cheap.

Thats ridiculous. They are going to be 9x23mm Winchester in service and compact sizes. This is the gap in the market place and it makes sense to fill it. It just takes the market nous which Glock is famous for.

Well, that or a 380ACP or perhaps a single stack 9mm or a carbine. We can be sure it wont be another boring .45ACP as hardly anyone wants them except for a few Americans.

Interesting. If that outline actually means anything it will be the same shape as a standard Glock minus finger grooves....if it means anything. What I get from that is it will be small so it has to be smaller than a G26/27 for sure. A single stack Shield/XDS sized 9mm would be great, but if the wording means anything, it should be a .380 that will compete with the LCP,BG380,P238,P3AT,etc...

Assuming that the two overlapping pictures are of the same scale, a person who owns a Zippo could give us a size approximation. It will not be accurate because there is more than one zippo size.
