GLOCK 39 Holsters

Discussion in 'Carry Issues' started by Bodyarmorguy, Jul 28, 2012.

  1. For those of you carrying a GLOCK 39 .45 GAP as your ccw piece, what holsters are you using? My girlfriend's agency issues G37 as a duty piece and I bought her a G39 for back-up and off-duty. Being that the slide is wider than it's similarly sized cousins (G26/G27) it won't fit in many of the same holsters. It has been a bit of a struggle finding a OWB or IWB holster that she likes. If anyone has any pics and reviews you can post, especially women who are using them it would be much appreciated.

Probably get a lot more responses if you ask about a G26/27 holster since most won't immediately know what a G39 is.

  3. Well.....the problem there being is that the 39 has a wider slide than the 26/27 and therefor can't be used in a lot of the same holsters, some yes, but most no. And for that very reason the selection of holsters for the 39 is limited.

Original post now edited to reflect more detail.

Theis holster for my G38 is working out quite well, and will fit all three GAP's. Maybe try some holsters for the G30?

I have a Theis IWB holster for my G39, which also fits my G37. I also have a Blackhawk for OWB that is specifically for the G37...but also retains the G39.

There are a few companies out there that put the G-39 in it's own holster versus trying to crossfit it into something similar. Don Hume specifically makes a few holsters for the Glock 39 (use fit code 36-39) and another manufacturer we carry called MTR Custom also makes holsters for the G-39. I've got an older G-30 with a rail, and found that holsters for it don't seem to fit the G-39 all that well.

CompTac MTAC Slide. Fits my 39 fine no issues. Most comfortable carry I've experienced. Got a CompTac belt also. This set up is great even under a t-shirt only in hot weather.
