I am considering buying a Glock 36 for personal carry. I would like to ask what the felt recoil difference is between a Glock 36 and a full size 45 acp ?
What are some of your feelings on the Glock 36 as a carry gun ?

About the same to me.....6 rounds of .45, one in the pipe.....easy to carry, shoots well and carry an extra mag or two. have had no problems with any type of ammo. If your worried about balistics you can drop to 180 gr HP.

The recoil is a little more with the Glock 36, due to the weight and grip size , but it is a CCW not a range weapon. When able it is my EDC (I do carry a LC9, if I have to pocket carry).

I'm a small guy with tiny little-girl-size hands. (one reason the G36 is my favorite handgun)
Also, I get very little range/practice time through the year.

The G36 recoil is no problem for me at all.

    I have a full-size 5-inch 1911 and a compact "Officer's Model" 1911-style.

The G36 to me has no more recoil than either of them, and in fact is more comfortable to shoot than the Officer's Model.

I carry either my G30 45acp or G27 40cal depending on the season...G30 winter time...G27 Spring-Summer..You have to consider concealment of your weapon...
  7. I love my G36! I find that in the proper holster it is very easy to carry and you can forget you are toting it at times. It is accurate, potent, thin and light. I think it is one of the best self defense firearms ever designed.

My G-36 is my main EDC for the last 6 years. Before that it was my G-23. My 36 rides and hides just great and as far as recoil well it does buck a little more than my 21 because it is lighter. But it is a well balanced pistol and recoil for me is not a problem. I shoot it frequently at the range and I can go through a box of 50 130gr. ammo and still play the piano. LOL!

I still carry other guns on occasion but my 36 is my fav and the one I have on me most of the time.
