Glock 26 and Federal 115 gr ammo problems

I took my G26 out this morning and put a box of cheap Walmart federal 115 gr. FMJ. through it.
Had nothing but problems, rounds kept nose-diving into the feed ramp.
Never had this problem with Winchester white box.
No problems with the ammo in my first gen 17 or second gen 19, so I'm hoping it's just too underpowered for the g26 recoil spring.
    Anyone have any thoughts???

I have shot about 800 rds of the cheap federal with no problems. I did shoot a box of Winchester Nato that I had on hand first before I went down and bought the Federal at Wally World. If yours is brand new you might want to try something a little more powerful first, though I don't think I would have had any problem with the Federal from the start.

Federal is all I run through all my Glocks and I have never had a problem, 17, 19 or 26. My G26's run fine on them, both my older one and my new OD one, which I just ran 150 round through without an issue

Generally this is going to be a magazine issue. Try to isolate the magazine it is happening in.

Try a different magazine. I use Federal in my G26 with no issues at all.

I've shot about 200 rnds of the Federal ($10.46) from Wally World with no problems out of my G26.

I had tried four different mags, all with the same result. Thats why I had assumed it was an ammo problem, as I had never shot it in the G26 before.
The mags were the two that came with the 26, and a G17, and G19 mag.
Never had a problem with any Glock until today.
I'm not gonna carry it now until I find out the cause.

Federal Champion 115-gr FMJ is the lowest powered ammo presently available. The advertised muzzle velocity is only 1,125fps whereas Winchester USA is 1,180fps. I suggest your problem is an ammo issue.

I've never ever had an issue with any of my Glocks regarding ammo. My 26 will shoot light loads, hot loads, hell.....I think it would eat square bullets if that's what I decided to feed it.

Hope you get the issues resolved.

He's're using just about the lowest power 9mm ammuntion availiable. Go buy pretty much anything else and you should have much better rsults.

My g26 ate endless amounts of that amo and never had a single matter what I put in it, WWB, cheap Federal, Fiocchi regular and +p+, russian crap, speer gold dots, on and on. I dont think the problem is the amo. And thats about 8k rounds worth of all that stuff. Something else besides amo is wrong.

Is this a new gun to you, second hand, or is it brand new? My guess would be mag springs, but its odd that it would happen with multiple mags at once. More info about the gun may help people diagnose the problem.
  14. This is DannyR's list of ammo. The Fed stuff is the lowest-powered you can find. Get hotter ammo. JR on this forum says to use 124gr or 147gr for flawless 9mm operation.

Several thousand rounds of the Federal 115 gr thru my G26 with no problems. Also thousands of others including WWB, Blazer Brass, Remington UMC and S & B.

I have only had one jam with my G26 and this was with Monarch Brass 115 gr. This jammed once in both my G26 and my Kahr PM9.

Its good info, but meaningless since my G26 has shot 2000 rounds of the walmart federal 115gr and so has many many many other people's G26's. Not to mention all the other Glock models that shoot that same ammo fine.
There is FAR too much blame on ammo on this forum... Could we call this DannyR Koolaid?

Im not saying its never the wrong ammo... but when one man's G26 wont feed Federal 115gr, over and over again and 1000 other men's G26s will all day from now until infinity... well, guess what.. Its not the ammo.

I see far too many people come on here with real Glock GUN issues and they are immediately dismissed for using the "wrong" ammo.

to the OP, your mags could be to blame, try switching them or putting new springs in them if they are old.

Come on now you haven't been brainwashed yet by those who push things like WWB USA 115gr, 45gap and gen4 9mm's like they have some kind of stock in them.

Fact-The first four complaints about gen4 9mm malfunctions on this site said they were using WWB USA 115gr ammo. These threads had little to no replies. Finally someone has a gen4 9mm malfunction using fed 115gr and thread goes 15 pages. Of course fed champ 115gr was the blame.

FWIW I have not had any issues using fed 115 at all. I prefer it over wwb and rem umc. It's much cleaner with better quality control IMO.
