I started a thread letting you folks know that a certain distributor had a bunch of 21SF RTF2's magically appear, and it was subsequently deleted.

I ordered this from one of my distributors, and told you I'd take pictures when it got here.

Red label, test-fire date of 2012 21 May.

Matte slide finish, compared to older (nicer) Glock 27

No "QR" type ID code on the barrel: Gen4 on left, 21SF RTF2 middle, and older 19. All "new" mfr Glocks I've seen use the QR type.

I'm not making any grand claims or speculating here, but it appears that these weren't sitting on a shelf since the initial LE run of these guns. I'm simply letting you folks know there are some available.

Does it have the gills, or straight serrations?

Note also the milled area to capture RSA. Same as the Gen 4.

Straight. That's one thing they didn't mess with.

Rough Textured Frame. The RTF2 models have over 4,000 raised "pyramids" covering the grip that provide far more traction.

The standard Gen 3 models are actually RTF frames. The new RTF2 frames have the polymid "pyramids". There is a lot of confusion out there among sellers who interchangeably use RTF instead of RTF2 for the new frame. You need to be careful that if you want an RTF2 frame that you be aware of that and get an RTF2 frame.

It's pretty cool seeing all these pop up. I hope we see a bunch of 19's and 23's pop up sometime in the future.

I didn't pay attention to the description on glockmeister site, but did see that they listed as RTF. I would double check to make sure they are not standard Gen 3's before I ordered.

I imagine they're for lot/batch/shift reference. Smith uses a series of dots dimpled into the slide to designate what machine was used and/or what batch they're from.

I wonder if the appeal to these will be the same considering the Gen 4 G21 is out. I know I'm tempted, but i would rather it wasn't an SF.

I'm sure there's still appeal (of course, I'm biased) as the other Gen 3's are quite popular. This affects the market value of the blue label guns on gunbroker, but at least more of us can own them now.

I'm EXTREMELY tempted to get one of these. All of my other pistols are 9mms (except for a Ruger .22 my son shoots) so I'd have to start buying a new caliber. I don't have any gear for this either but it would most likely just be a house gun so the only accessory would be a set of Warren Two-Dots. Hopefully they'll sell out before my resistance fades.

You owe it to yourself to buy a glock 45. I love the original 21 (I've had four), the SF is more comfortable (had one), and the rtf2 just makes it all come together.
