    Just recently picked up a gen2 glock 19 . I also own a gen 4 G19
that has been sent back to glock twice for ejection issues. I attempted to put barrel from the Gen 2 19 into the gen 4 and it would not fit. But .. the gen 4 barrel fit into the gen 2 slide just fine. I found this to be a little odd thinking that the barrels are supposed to be interchangeable. Has anyone heard of this before?

The Gen 4 has a larger guide rod assembly so the barrels are not interchangeable.

I dont' buy that. The gen 4 barrel fits in the the gen 2 just fine . Side by side both barrels are Identical. The gen 2 guide rod and spring fit perfect with the gen 4 barrel in the gen 2 slide.

looking closer it appears that the gen 2 barrel hood is ever so slightly wider where it fits into the opening on top of the slide. The other end of the hood does not taper down slightly like my gen 4 barrel does. I guess that would explain it. I guess Glock changed the barrel specs starting with the gen 3.
