So I picked up a 2nd gen Glock 19. No Austrian proof marks, pig nose included. Looks as if it was updated internally. Sights are still original and plastic is starting the wear. So Here's what I have in mind?

    1. smooth face trigger bar
    2. - minus connector
    3. laser max guide rod
    4. plug for the bottom of the frame
    5. XS big dot sights

Later send it off to have slide refinished?

Or do I leave it stocked and maybe just go with steel oem sights?

Congrats on the gen2. Id go with the big dot sights since the plastic factory ones are wearin. Good find, how much was it?

Got it as a gift from a friend who knew I was searching for one.

I would probably pass on the laser max guide rod and the grip plug. And refinishing the slide is almost certainly going to cost more than you would ever get back from it. And I figure especially if a gun is going to be carried it is going to show some wear anyway, and I usually like that look.

It is set up like my both of my 2nd gen G19's. Love it as is!

Smooth trigger? Absolutely - if it makes that much difference to you. I don't notice the trigger feel difference between my G17 and G26. If you are going with a "-" connector, replace these parts together.

Sights? I'm a sucker for OEM steel white outline rear and tritium front. I put them on my Gen1 G17 and have never been happier.

Frame plug? Do it. Easily removed if you don't like it.

"-" connector? Only if OEM available, and I recommend replacing trigger/trigger bar at the same time.

Lasermax guide rod? Not for me. I don't like lasers in general except for SWAT shield work. And, I'm of the school of thought that Glock pistols tend to work best with OEM Glock parts.

Refinish? Why bother. It's a Glock. Remember that the black surface finish is cosmetic. Tennifer is IN the metal, and still protecting even if the black phosphate wears off. Gen2 Glock slide finishes tend to get "doggy" over time, but it doesn't affect hardness/corrosion resistance.
