Had a really good range session with my Glock 17 G4 today, so just felt like saying it is the best gun. While the G26 is the best carry gun on the planet, the Glock 17 is the best gun in the world:)

Maybe I'm just easily pleased
It is light, balanced, reliable, accurate, comfortable, simple, high capacity, durable.

For anyone who wants a defensive type handgun with a full-length grip in 9mm, I highly suggest the 17. I know there's lots of stuff out there to choose from :)

I see one in my future someday! I've yet to shoot one but the 17 feels good in my hand. I'll keep packing my 19 for now.

I see one in my near future as well. Possibly a Glock 17 RTF2. You can still find those for now. I don't have a G17 in my collection yet. Being it’s the one that built Glock. I owe it to myself for multiple reasons to get one. Mostly, I don't have a duty size 9 that I can carry. Unless you count my Comp Glock.

I've always had a G17 will continue to always have one. I bought a G26 last month and like it, shot several G19's but I'll take the 17 over both.

Must be why I have 7. The 19/23 just don't feel right in my hand.

Nah - Glock 22 is the best auto.:tongueout:

A good S&W .357 is the best gun. :tongueout:

Took my G22 to the range this weekend. 80 rounds with no issues. I tried firing it with no magazine and intentionally limp wristing it with no problems. With no mag it ejected different but still worked (brass was more to my 4:30 -5 o'clock as opposed to 3-4 o'clock).

However, I fired 92 of my .357 reloads first and I will say that the Glock trigger sucks compared to a Smith 686 in single action. Of course, almost all trigger pulls suck compared to a Smith 686 in single action.

Well well, G17 is right at the top of my list. When I get more time on a M&P FS9 and G17, I will come to my conclusion.

I don't know. More than 1 case, but less than 2 cases :) Don't know how many through my 26 either, as it is about 15 years old.

The occasional brass to the face fixed itself after a couple hundred. Only had 1 stopage, which was a single stovepipe on the second mag full. So, I personally believe the G4 benefit from a break-in period :)

I highly disagree. As far as I am concerned the G17 Gen4
    is a turd. I had my G17 Gen4, G30SF, and my G27 on
my range Saturday. It was a side by side test, because
I am just not feeling the love for the G17. I didn't even
bother putting the G20SF in the pile, as I wanted a
fair comparison, and nothing compares to the G20SF.

    I put 100 rounds down the G17, and the G27, and 200
rounds down the G30SF. The G17 was the worst for
accuracy. Even the "snappy" little G27 kicked it's butt.
There were two tests. Accuracy at 25 yards, slow fire,
and rapid fire at 7 yards, with three attacking assailants.
I put 50 round in each test, and an additional 100 rounds
down the G30SF, once I decided to focus on a pistol
that can shoot 25 yards accurately, in prep for the GSSF
matches. All three pistols have the similar upgrades.
A Glock 4.5 connector, and NS of one variety or another.

I purchased this pistol(G17 Gen4) to shoot a couple of
divisions in the GSSF matches, as I think I could trim
a couple of seconds off my time with a 9mmx19 pistol
over the G30SF I am shooting now. At this point it
looks like I will be selling/trading the G17, and be shooting
the G30SF again this year. It gets about another month
to show me the love...It will be the first Glock I have
    parted with.
