Why has Springfield stop making the GI?
No sales = no make.
Because the Mil-Spec is a better base gun?
There's a huge back order (over a year) on the GI, so it's been removed for the time being.
Not if you prefer straight serrations.
Why else would Springfield stop selling the GI?
Look above,.......they have backorders to Distributors. Estimate is 14 months behind demand.
So, the GI is not canceled?
they just removed it from the catalog for now.
Correct,.......they are saying once the backorders are nearly caught up,
it will return to the line-up. Estimate is 14 months.
Weird. They could just say that it's on backorder on the website. Taking the model off would indicate that it's been cancelled.
That's what I had thought as well,.....until I called Springfield.
I'm still going to snatch the first parked GI I can find.
I heard this as well.
I just traded mine away for $300..I thought the guy looked a little too excited over it..hmmm he was like do you have the case and everything for it...umm yeah.. and he snatched it..that plus some $$ got the wife a new Kimber TLE/II in SS
