Can anyone explain the 50% prepared foods clause?

What was the point of that?

The law will finally allow GFL holders to legally carry in restaurants that serve alcohol. As long as the restaurant receives more than 50% of it's income from food, carrying in there would be lawful.
Until the law takes effect on July 1, it is against the law to carry in places like Ruby Tuesday's or Pizza Hut because they serve alcohol.

I assume that If the "Restaurant" makes 51% of their income from Alcohol sales then it is no longer a restaurant but a bar which is off limits.

As far as I know, church carry will still not be allowed. I think it and most of the public gathering stuff was addressed when the original bills were drawn up, but the bill had to be whittled away and watered down to have a chance at being considered. The passing of HB 89 is good news, but still just a small victory.

Yep, you can tote on the bus now. If I wasn't going to be out of town on July 1 I would ride it from North Ridge to the airport and back with my G21SF on my hip, just to celebrate.
