I may be moving next year to Georgia with my uncle. I am just wondering how the gun laws are?

    Thanks

    Thanks! :wavey:

Just kinda wondering for concealed carry, do you have to be 21? I am 18 and recieved my Glock as a gift from my father, so I was just wondering if I could apply and get my permit to carry.

If you drive into SC, put it in the glove box.

I'll give you a quick summary. You can generally have a weapon in your home, car or office without a license. With a Georgia Firearms License, you can carry most places open or concealed. Recently the law was changed allowing carry to restaurants that serve alcohol and for GFL holder to be able to drop off and pick up their kids at school when carrying. There is a prohibition on carrying to a "public gathering". Nobody is really sure what that means so we are trying to get rid of it. Despite the fairly reasonable laws, you may run into trouble in urban areas if you open carry. Some police officers are not familiar with the laws.

It states right on the form that you must be 21.

To apply for a pistol permit you must be at least 21 years old. Georgia law requires that you apply for a pistol
permit in the county where you presently reside. The Dekalb County Pistol License Department is located in
the basement of the Dekalb County Courthouse Annex, Room B190.
