If Glock came out with a Gen 5 (probably many years away) or a Gen 4 v2/4.5, would you prefer to have the finger grooves or not. Would a Gen 5 with the Gen 2 no grooves, with the Gen 3 light rail and Gen 4 backstraps be the perfect Glock. The texturing Im undecided.

Keep the finger grooves, ditch the texture, keep the back straps and rail. JMO.

    1. The finger grooves fit me but I'm not particularly fond of them, and I know plenty of people they don't fit, so I'd rather they go.
    2. Bevel the muzzles of all models.(like sub-compacts, G34/35)
    3. Start with a flat backstrap and offer add-on backstraps that have the hump.
    4. Offer steel sights from the factory, and make the adjustable rear out of steel.

I wish they'd put the .45 slides on a diet as well. If the G36 can have the same width slide as the 9/40 models, why not the bigger .45 models?

The perfect Glock for me would be a better backstrap system that allows you have no hump as an option. Also everything Voyager4520 said.

This is just my .02, but I really enjoy the fit of the Gen 4s for my smaller hands. I really like the finger grooves and i don't use any of the backstraps and it fits great. I hope future generations are similar.

Groves with Gills on slide. How about Gen 5 model X that comes with 40 S&W, 9mm and 357 barrels...... All Glock factory conversions.

I'd like to see most of what's been mentioned as well as a factory undercut trigger guard. Maybe a slightly deeper beaver tail?

They already do. Just put your G36 upper on your G30!!

I vote for smooth finger grooves. I have them on my G26, and it is the only Glock I own that does not wear a Hogue grip. I don't care for the checkering or whatever they call it in the grooves. Too tough on delicate hands.

Gen3 RTF2. Was perfect for me. Only thing is wish they made the tac rail look more like the the M&P tac rail. more slots look cooler.

My 2nd Gen Glock 17 fits like a tailored glove. My vote is for 2nd gen grip but I would keep the gen 4 texture and a even smaller frame and more improved trigger reach.

I want the Gen5 to have no more issues with brass to the face & chest! Go back to the old glossy, shiny slide! I don't mind the finger grooves, but it's also nice without one, like my Sigs. The grip feel of my Sigs are really nice. Anyway, keep the Gen4 texture & mbs, offer different frame colors, ie., OD, FDE, Tan, Camo, etc.. Make all sights steel.

I like this idea as well, Sig tried something similar but has caught on the way the wanted. I think that if you made a Glock 19 size lower for $300 and sold the tops for $225ish (9, 40 S&W, .357 Sig, 45 GAP and maybe a 8 round 45ACP and 10mm if possible) and the ejector change. I mag with slide and other mags would be extra.

If I were them, I would work on a complete modular grip including the front and back straps, as well as the sides..similar to the P30, but better. Allow the user to swap out finger grooves or not, flat or curved backstrap, etc. That is what I'd be spending my development money.

I'd make Gen5 a single stack with RTF2 grip texture, no finger grooves, fish gills front and back on the slide, night sights standard and built-in tac light.

That way single stack lovers will still have something to complain about.

Seriously though, I would want the Gen 5 without finger grooves but keep the Gen4 texture (maybe even bring back RTF2). I would love to have factory RMR option on the slide. and about everything Voyager said.

    Perfect Glock to me:

    1) No finger grooves.
    2) Straight backstrap, even near the beavertail
    3) Bevelled slide front, like subcompact models
    4) Slimmer slides regardless of frame thickness (If you can do it on the G36, you should be able to do it on all models)
    5) Metal magazines (like an XD mag)
    6) Better slide stop lever
    7) Remove hole at bottom of back strap (I hate how it looks - I don't care if it serves a purpose)
    8) Better, all-metal factory sights
    9) Interchangeable backstraps are fine. Keep 'em.
    10) New frame texture is good. Keep it.
    11) Reduce grip angle for more natural/intuitive point aiming.

Other than that, I love me the Glocks!

Keep the finger grooves, bring back the RTF2 texture and gills as an option, bevel the front of the slide on all models, and use the large Gen 4 mag release.
