    Is this normal?
When I fully set the guide rod in it fits nice. Put it together, rack the slide, take the slide of and it goes back to this position..
I would think this would cause the end piece to bend like I have seen on some pictures on the internet.
My stock Glock plastic guide rod does the same thing.. Just doesn't seem like this should be normal.

Yes, that's normal. After you assemble slide and frame, the breech end of the guide rod doesn't rest on the lug. It rest on the locking block. The guide rod is only seated in the cut out of the lug for assembly.

Mine moves lower on the locking lu.....I mean barrel. Seems normal since, when the pistol is together, most of the pressure would be on the slide-lock bar....

    Jack,

The half-moon, or crescent notch is the "reassembly" position only. Positing the RSA in it properly prevents damage to the RSA and possibly frame while placing the slide back on the frame. Once the slide is in place, the RSA pops into the "operating" position, which is out of that crescent.
