I used to have then Gen 3 21sf and got rid of it cause it just felt too big for my liking. I was wondering if Glock makes a Gen 4 21sf or just the new Gen 4 21. If so, I was wondering if the gen 4 model was similar in size to the gen 3 or a little smaller.....hope this makes sense. Thanks

The grip dimensions of the G21 Gen4, without a backstrap adapter installed, are essentially equivalent to the dimensions and contours of the Gen3 G21SF, but many have reported (myself included) that the G21 Gen4 feels even smaller than the Gen3 G21SF. Most attribute this to the difference in the grip texture of the G21 Gen4. The G21SF has a deeper texture on the finger grooves and the backstrap compared to the sides, whereas the grip texture of the G21 Gen4 is uniform around the entire circumference of the grip.

Find a local gun store or gun show where you can hold a Gen4 G21. I think you might like the feel of the Gen4 more than you remember with the G21SF.

Like GRT45 said, find one and try it out. The difference between my old Gen3 G21 and new Gen4 is amazing.

My G21 Gen4 feels smaller and better to me than my G21SF did...

This is why the gen4 G21 has become my favorite pistol. The dimensions are just right for my hand size.

    My Gen3 G21SF feels great:

I'm sure the Gen4 without any backstrap will be slightly similar...does anyone have a comparison?

So, is the G21/30sf receiver the same dimension as a G17?

Nope, still larger frame size. I'd consider it a happy medium between the 17 and the non-SF 21.

I did that same thing and ow have a G21 gen4 and I like it better than the g3, still large but the new texture makes it a lot better for me.

this...hopefully you can try them both at the same visit to your local gun shop...the G21 SF and the G21 Gen4 are the same size (when the Gen4 has no added back strap) but it will feel smaller than the SF model...

I've owned a Gen 3, SF and now the Gen4 and this one feels the best so far...it is still larger than my Gen 3 G17 by a good bit though...
