I recently purchased a 2nd gen G22; it's an older LE gun and appears to have seen a substantial number of rounds. Despite this, it seems to be in decent condition other than a wear pattern on the slide at the chamber. Since Im not familiar with Glocks , I thought I would ask for opinions on the damage.

    1. Is this a common condition with high volume G22s?
    2. Is it indicative of a problem?
    3. Does anything need to be done to prevent/minimize further damage?

    Any information/guesses/comments are appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Lol, no thanks. I took it to the range yesterday and was exceptionaly pleased with the way it handled. I've never shot anything but S&W or Beretta and the Glock experience was unique . . . in a good way. I think I'll keep it :)

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a problem that needed to be addressed.

With the G22 I had in the 90's the wear got to a certain level then stopped.

    1. It can happen with any of the Glocks. More recoil generally makes it worse but I've seen it on all the different caliber Glocks I've looked at.
    2. No.
    3. No. It's not really damage, strictly speaking. It's normal wear.

I would say no problem there but if you are really worried then have a Glock certified armourer check it out or send pictures to Glock.

    Mike,

    1. Yes
    2. NO, completely normal and does not require a phone call to Glock. It will wear some and not get any worse.
    3. See 2.

I got this from a Glock trainer while in Glocks armorers course. My LE G22 has the same marks, except I put them there. :wavey:

This is correct-also as per the pic I'd say your gun has a mild case of it compared to my old G22
