I was thinking of getting a custom job by Garthwaite. Anybody have any opinion on his work?
Jim Garthwaite enjoys a great reputation earned by year after year of great work.
Have you checked out his web site? Good pictures!
If you like his personal style, give him a call and discuss your budget and preferences. I hear he is very easy to talk to.
I've never seen his work but as Chuck said he certainly has a great reputation.
I love his style and he's a CCO man too. I'm in the process of nailing down a order for him now.
His guns is purdy for sure
yeah, I really like the look of his work. I also love cco, you'll have to post pics when you get it
Can't ask for a better reference than this.
I have seen his work (a CCO made before Colt ever did it by using the frame from an Officer's ACP and a Commander slide) and it is master-class work.
Jim Gartwaithe did two Colt Gold Cup 1911s for me years ago. I carried them on the job for years. I never regretted paying to have the work done, just my stupidity at selling them. they don't make them like they used too!!!!
