If there is a 10mm to .40 S&W conversion barrel and the stock 10mm mags work with the shorter round, could there be a .45ACP to .45GAP conversion barrel and the G21 mags work with the shorter GAP rounds?? Many people do not want a G37/38/39 but would't many try a $125 ~ 165 conversion barrel?? I would and then maybe sell my G37!!
    Glock may not be happy.

What exactly would be the incentive to spend $165 to shoot GAP out of a G21? Wouldn't you forfeit all the advantages of the GAP that way?

But if the GAP round is comfortable to shoot from a standard frame Glock, would it a dream from a heavier framed G21?

Yeah that's called a 45 ACP. I have a GAP and like it, but I also don't own a Glock in 45ACP. There's a reason why. Because I like the size of the GAP gun and without starting a caliber war, the ballistics of the two rounds is almost identical.

And, given the nearly identical ballistics of the ACP and GAP rounds, there would also be no advantage to shooting GAPs in the G21.

Given the nearly identical ballistics of the ACP and GAP rounds, there would appear to be no real difference in recoil.

I was thinking with this current ammo shortage GAP may be more available in certain places than ACP. It would be nice just to be able to swap a barrel and shoot GAP in your G21.

Exactly. If I fired a GAP load in my G21 it would feel like firing an ACP except I would have paid however much for the conversion barrel.

I have seen used GAP guns for very good prices. I've thought about picking one up a time or two. Eventually, I'll probably give in.

Of course you're using different mags/holsters then...

Other than being able to use what is available locally, I see no point. The ballistics are close (with 185 and 200gr a tick better in the GAP, 230 better in Auto).

Recoil would feel the same. Not like shooting 40 instead of 10mm where a noticeable decrease in felt recoil would be an advantage.

I like my GAPs because of the smaller frame... but don't really see a point other than local availability of ammo.
