I would think the G17L since that is the longest walking cane of them all - lol

cheaper on the ammo as well for the 9mm, better follow-up shots.

If you are planning on using the GSSF certificate towards it, only 1 of the 3 you mention is eligible: the G35. The G17L/G24/G24C group is NOT part of that program (or the LEO/Homeland program).

Just thought I would point that out for you. :wavey:

Never thought of that as a use for a 17L, so I guess it isn't completely useless!

That being said,, even though I've never owned one, and probably never will, I can see the usefulness in owning a G35. It has the ability for caliber change out to 9MM, for shooting on the cheap, the .357 sig, for whatever reason you deem to have that caliber over the 40, the ability to shoot with it in competition, and lastly wouldn't be intolerable as a carry, or nightstand firearm! IMHO of course!

since so far you are the only G24 vote besides adding the 357 sig option any other benefits to the G24 over the g35

I totally vote for the G24. My first and only Glock is a G24 and I LOVE it!!! I have purchased a 357 sig barrel for it from LW that runs perfectly. With a hot 357 sig loading I sometimes feel like I have a hybrid gun, somewhere between a pistol and a rifle. I often shoot steel from 100-125 yards with it. That 357 gets there in a hurry and really smacks the steel. It has very little drop at 100 yards.

Keeping all of that in mind, if you are looking for versatility, the G35 is probably the best selection. With either the G24 or G35 you can run .40 s&w, 357 sig, or 9mm with a barrel change. If you run 9mm you will also need G17 mags. I stressed about an aftermarket barrel's reliability, but my LW 357 sig barrrel for my G24 has ~1,000 to 1,500 rounds through it with no incidents at all.

    I have gone G24 and G23. Eventually I will add a subcompact, probably a G26. A G35, G23, G27 would be a good family. A G24, G22, G27 would also be cool.

    Good luck with your decision!

Longer barrel so possibly a smidge more velocity, slightly longer sight radius. Probably won't mean much of anything in accuracy though. I think the G24 just looks cool.

    I'd go with the G17L.
