Just picked up a new Gen 4 35 about an hour ago and noticed some things.

    1. It has the 'new' black finish, not grey.
    2. It has the "serial number" dot pattern on the barrel lug, not just inside the frame.
    3. The mags have the number 2 on them. My Gen3 RTF2 came with them but my Gen4 22 did not.
    4. It has the ejector and spring, as expected.

I'll rip it apart and post pics when I get home from work. Even though the 40's never had bigtime issues with the extractors I'm interested to see if it's cast or MIM. We shall see...

Congrats! I hope they stick with the new black finish. Looking at the newest Glocks in the gun store that have the new black finish, the extractors seem to have a shiny black finish on them, but I've never seen one outside of the slide so I don't know if any other changes have been made to the latest extractors. The ones I've seen still have the dip in the top visible from the side of the slide.

According to the trainer at the AC in January, the mags marked with 2 are the newest models, and the follower for .40 should have 9 on it.

Yup, my newer Glocks have to bar dot code stamping all over them, as well as the "shiny" finish.

Congrats, A few weeks from the factory not bad, I remember reading somewhere on here a member bought a new Glock that was stamped from the factory less the a week from his purchase date.

This one has the new shiny black finish:
    http://glocktalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=18616652&postcount=5

The order goes like this from what I've seen:
    1. Shiny black on Gen3's, early RTF2's and early Gen4's
    2. Matte black on some late Gen3's and RTF2's
    3. Matte gray on late Gen3's, late RTF2's, and mid Gen4's
    4. Shiny gray on all recent production
    5. A lighter shiny black on the latest Gen4's

I've only ever seen the lighter shiny black on the latest Gen4's, I don't know what finish is on the latest Gen3's.

Correct sir. They are the newest and are so marked to indicate the 11 coil spring. I just though it was odd that my Gen3 RTF2 (which is older than my Gen4 22) had the "2" marked mags then my Gen4 22 didn't. I figured maybe they weren't marking the Gen4 mags but low and behold, these are marked...

One thing I found interesting is this is the 3rd Glock in a row that I've purchased which had oil in the firing pin channel from the factory :dunno: Glock says to keep it dry but they ship it wet? Who knows... I cleaned it out

    Very nice pics!

I noticed, too, that my newly acquired G17 also had a lot of oil in the firing pin channel. Someone was asking about the extractor number (voyager, I believe) on the new Gen4. When I detail stripped the slide, everything up top was oily.

I'll be sure to take any new pistols completely apart going forward, just to be sure that they're "dry" where they're supposed to be dry.

Does this "shiny matte" finish have the pebbled appearance to it of the shiny black coating?

I thought they came with the adjustable sights except for the LE models.

Same here. G19 with an 11-18-2011 birthday had a bunch of oil in the FPC. I did as you and cleaned it out.

    Congrats!!! That's a beautiful pistol.
