    Guys,

What's the consensus on the Gen 4 G34's? I am interested in one in FDE. Any serial number ranges to avoid? I'm not knowledgedable on the Gen4s enough to know which may have had issues.

Seems like 700 OTD is about as cheap as they come anymore. Thoughts?

    Thanks

I was just now cleaning my G4 34 to get it ready for an IDPA classifier match this weekend. I've got around 13000 rounds through it, and couldn't be happier. Yes, $700 sounds about right these days, and an FDE frame would likely add a little extra.

Thanks guys. Well, it didn't take me long. My local shop unexpectedly had one on the shelf. Test fire date Feb 26 2013, so it's hot off the presses. $699, but I'm not seeing them any cheaper online. Trigger is nice for a Glock.

The dual spring is interesting. I don't see the point though. It also came with the beavertail backstraps in the case.

Do new G34s, includig the Gen4 versions, still come with the "-" connectors?

I think that's correct. Mine had the (-) connector.

Very nice! I didn't realize Glock was making another run of fde guns. I would love to get the FDE G34.

Hard to go wrong there. G34's are a lot of fun to shoot seriously and just plink with.

I wanted a Gen 4 G34 for a long time and then the problems started being reported. I think it might be safe now though.

Thanks gents. The finish on this gun is definitely different than my 3rd gen G23. It has a dull, almost gray/blue tinge to it. I like it though. The grip texture is nice. No need for sandpaper grips like on my Gen3.

I just bought myself a Gen 4 G34 in FDE this weekend. Shot it sunday and really liked it.

I was thinking about getting the Glockworxs fulcrum trigger drop in and the stainless steel guide rod. Good investment??

BTW, i found mine for $659 plus tax.

^ shoot it a buch first, the G34 trigger isn't that bad (some high praise, huh) Personally I have a tendancy to want to do or buy stuff for a new pistol and it's easy to get stuff that doesn't work as well or doesn't even get used. Just start with a good quantity of ammunition.

:welcome: to Glock Talk, jcvibby! :patriot:

btw it didn't happen unless there are photos :cowboy:

Got her to the range today. I fired 100 rounds of remington umc 115 grain. No malfs, but weak ejection. I did experience some of the dreaded brass to face. Maybe 3 or 4 rounds per mag.

Not sure what to do, break it in more, or see what it does with hotter ammo. But I'd like to be able to shoot 115g.

I shoot a lot of Makarovs...I'm used to the brass being hurled into the next zip code.

Lube the extractor, run some hotter loads and see what happens. My Gen 4 G17 had some weak ejections with WWB, but after stripping her down, lubing the extractor and running some NATO rounds, it runs fine; even with the weaker WWB loads. Now it is tossing weak loads about 5 feet away and hot loads are going well over that.

Fear the man who owns but one gun, for he knows how to use it.
