I have to say I cannot get 9 rounds! Use the mag loader and can't get the last one. I have it sitting in a vise with the mag loader hopefully I can break it in.

I'm going guess you don't have an UpLULA loader.
    Get one.
Also leaving the mags fully loaded helps with new springs.

My 10 rounders weren't to bad. I just don't see how a 9th round will fit in my 9 round mag.

I just bought my first one of these the other day and this thread reminded me to try loading 9 in there. I have to be honest -- the first 8 went in reasonably easily and I thought people may have been playing the difficulty up a bit, but #9 is no joke. Incidentally, round #7 rattles back and forth in mine, which amazes me given that it feels as if there is not a millimeter of additional space in there to allow for any movement.

They will fit in there; but I am leaving mine loaded at 8 for a while. Still going through my EDC ritual before placing my G30 into service. While I'm doing that, I am keeping my 9-rounders loaded with 8, my 10 rounders loaded with 9.

It has been a couple of weeks that way and I can already fill them to stated capacity now. The springs will break-in with one less round just fine.

BTW- Hickok45 always loads his mags one less (all the time). Makes pushing the mag into pistol a lot easier when yo give the mag a little push-down room. Just saying....

I took my mags a part and stretch and compressed the spring. I pulled them and then compressed them in the vise. After a little work on the spring I was able to load all 9 rounds.

How did you go about compressing it in a vise? I tried but seemed unstable.

It's tough because it wants to pop out. If you can get someone to help it's easier. You control the spring while they crank the vise. Make sure you stretch it too. Believe it or not it helps.

Try disassembling the mag and clean any loose plastic flashing around the bottom of the tube. My 9 rounder would not take 9 rounds with a hydraulic press until I did this! :wow:

Just bought a 30sf the first day couldnt get more then 8 rds in either mag tried the next day, and shooting it could get the full ten in but when you put the mag in the gun it was so tight up against the slide made it pretty hard to rack the slide. Just have to work with the mags some times. I like the mags for the 21 I can put in my 30 more hand room plus a few more rds.

Good news! I tried to put a 9th round in this morning and what do you know it went in! didn't even have to use the mag loader. So two days in a vise with the mag loader and two days loaded with 8 rounds did the trick!
