So when I have always seen these .380 glocks G25-28 on glocks website but for LE only. I have never seen one before and when i tried to ask a LGS owner about it one day he looked at me like i was crazy and said he'd never heard of a .380 glock but he did listen to what i had to say and told me he'd look into. So my question is have any of you seen one or better yet been a lucky one and own one? I'd like to see some pics of them because glock doesnt even offer pics.

There is a point system for imported firearms. It doesn't apply to long guns, but they basically assign a point value to various metrics like size weight, caliber, trigger type, safety, etc. The gun must meet or exceed 75 points, and the .380 Glocks don't meet it. I guess there is an exemption for LEO purchases.

My guess is that this would be a very soft shooter. Too bad it can't be an option for those that want it.

    Here's mine:

It's a gimmick or collector's piece as far as I'm concerned. It is exact same size as a G-26 and shoots a less-powerful round. Really an answer in search of a question...

    Some questions:

Why does the magazine look that way in the above image? Any purpose?

From what I understand, the GLOCK 25 and GLOCK 28 are blowback operation (opposed to locked breech operated). Does this significantly change the internals? If so, what parts are added/missing/changed?

    Thanks!

The recessed back on the mags is to make up the difference in the overall length of .380 rounds vs. 9mm, while still having the magazine fill up the 9mm sized mag well.

The only difference on the internals are shown in the photo above. Rather that the (square) front of the barrel hood engaging the mating rear surface of the slide's ejection port (thus providing the "lock" in the Browning system), the barrel hood is milled away and a ramp is machined farther back to delay the opening/separation of the barrel and slide unit. To me, this makes the 380 Glocks delayed blowback, rather than simply blowback.

Very interested. Thanks for the information! Hopefully I'll be able to see one in person at some point.

NC - They're pretty hard to come by. I've got one of three sets imported at the same time, and I know there's been a couple police departments who have ordered them, and then "sold/gave" them to their officers. I doubt there's more than a hundred or two in the US. I've never seen one come up for sale, like on Gunbroker or anything...

Makeminea10mm, I have a really odd question. Will a factory 26 barrel drop in it?

actually is a blow back system so it may not be softer shooter that the 26 or 19.

Yes, it will fit, but you can't shoot it that way. Both the hood of the slide and the forward top edge of the chamber area of the barrel have been modified.

Now, you CAN put a complete G28 top end on a complete G26 frame, which is likely what you're looking at in my photo above... :whistling:

Not really as their main selling point is for countries where civilians cannot own Military caliber handguns. There are a lot of these in South America. Let's face it, a .380 Gock is better than no Glock. :whistling:

You have a point there T.F., but if I were living there, I'd get a G29, and have a REAL caliber! (Joking - I'm sure 10mm isn't exactly easy to get down there...) What about 40 S&W? The G27 is the same size as the G-28, and shoots a much better cartridge for self-defense...
