    I put 500 rounds of .40 S&W downrange today, and split them between my G23 (Gen 4) and my H&K P30 (V3).

In terms of recoil I have to say that the G23 kicks less than the P30, I'm going to rate it at about 5-10% less felt recoil with the 23.

This is of course subjective, however I'm attributing this Glock's lower bore axis.

which of the two do you like the most ?

  3. I own both and to me they are about the same. I love the 40 Caliber round.I also love both pistols. The p30 feels amazing in hand. My 23 RTF2 sticks like glue. You wont go wrong with either

I've heard the Gen 4 23 does a good job of handling recoil compared to the Gen 3. Still, it's been my experience that HKs best everything except maybe M&Ps.

    I may yet get a G23.

I have never tried a double recoil spring in a G23 but supposedly that reduces the recoil even more.

I've had the same experience in shooting my G23 and my HK45c back to back. The lower bore axis of the Glock plus the dual recoil spring makes a big difference to me in felt recoil and in getting the pistol back on target.
