what do yall use or recommend for a tactical light mounted on a g23 for home defense. i have read that some feel the glock tactical light isnt very bright, anyone have any opinions?

i was also thinking about the laserlyte laser, anyone used it before? opinions?

  2. First borrow one to test. The 3rd gen 40's don't always function properly with lights attached.

  3. Ahh, in that case you should be fine. I persoanlly feel the TLR-1 is a great light at a great price. I've used them for years and they are very durable and bright. Only better light in my opinion is the much more expensive surefire lights.

I went with the Streamlight TLR-3 on my G23. A buddy of mine let me borrow his Surefire X300 and I liked it, but it is larger then my TLR-3 and 3x as expensive($70 vs $220+). Since the largest Glock I own is a 23 I went with the smaller light. Down the road if I get the G22 or G35 I'll go with the X300.

    Here's a link to my G23 w/TLR-3 attached. Its post #2785

I have the glock tactical light / laser and I am very happy with it. Shoots fine on my 22 and 23's. I leave it on the 22 all the time for HD. Carry the 23's and 27. Light seems pretty bright to me. I have had my daughter stand at the end of our hallway with it and I can't see her behind it due to it's brightness.

well maybe ill give the glock light a try and see how it is. in a self defense situation, i just need a light that will give me something to aim at, doesnt have to be ridiculously bright i dont guess. thanks for the replies :).
