Picked up some G21 Gen 2 goodness today. It came with antiquated adjustable sights....which I quickly swapped out. Luckily I had some spare rear sights for .45/10mm. Anyways, I much prefer 2nd Gen's to any of the others. Found it on Summit Gun Broker, and it is in really good shape.

I had a G20 Gen 2. I traded a Bersa Thunder .40 and a Bersa Thunder .380 for it. The accuracy of the .380 sucked anyway. I never could get used to the grip on that G20, although I loved to shoot it. Ended up giving the 20 to my son and he loves it. I have a G21OD Gen 3 now and I don't have any problem with it's grip, which surprises me. Hope you enjoy!

Nice, I've got one just like it!
  4. Just picked one up myself. My first Glock and my first pistol purchase! Haven't fired it yet though.

I have one like that. Mine has a little history.

I bought it brand new from the local Glock dealer on a Police Letterhead and got the discount back in 1996 when I was hired at the local PD. I carried it and qualified with it when I attended the Police Academy in 1997. The firearms block was a week long. We ran at least a thousand rounds through it during all kinds of courses of fire.

In 1998 My wife decided she wanted to cat around, got caught cheating on me and I filed for a divorce. As those of you who have experienced divorces know, the Lawyers are the only winners. Anyway, I had to sell my Glock to another officer in another agency to pay for the attorney.

Five years later I run across this officer and we say hi and he says, "remember this"? He lifted up his shirt and it was my Glock, tucked in his waistband. He then says, "want to buy it back"? I said yes and off to the ATM we went.

My poor Glock! The rear sight was missing, it had some finish wear both from a holster and sliding around in his personal car. I called and asked him if he had ever shot it or cleaned it. He said that he had shot it twice a year for qualifications and did some plinking. The bi-annual qualification course required 50 rounds at different stages. He didn't think it was dirty enough to need cleaning. So, he had shot 500 rounds through it plus what he shot for plinking and he had never cleaned it in all this time.

I stripped it completely down and soaked it overnight. There was at least quarter inch of crud floating in the bottom of the container the next morning. There was dirt, lint, something that looked like carpet fuzz and some other stuff I couldn't identify.

I detail cleaned it, put the lube where it was supposed to go and took it to the gun store to get a new sight. I had them put a set of night sights on it.

I shot it the next week, cleaned it and started carrying it again. My Glock had come home. I still have it today.

I've had mine since 1993: no issues ever. Love it.
