Does anyone have one of the new factory 6" barrel guns yet? If so how does it shoot? reflex264
Hi..actually there isn't any 'new' factory 6 inch guns. Never has been.
1. There is a Glock 6 inch barrel that fits into the Glock 20 for States that require a 6 inch barrel for handgun hunting.
2. There are several 6 inch barrels (aftermarket) from various companies (lonewolf, KKM and Stormlake are probably the big three). These are stainess rifled barrels that will handle lead reloads and those that have proper chamber support (not all do) will handle HOT hunting loads as well. There are plenty of threads here to read.
3. In addition, Lonewolf offers a 'Longslide' for a 6 inch barrel that some people like. (I have one, see photo).
This gives me better sight radius, hot load capability and because of the slide weight, recoil is less.
This pic from their website got me wondering then in a search I found mention that they were bringing out a a GS 20 with a 6" barrel. I have been all over their website and have yet to locate any reference to a 6" accessory barrel. I already have a 21SF with a 6" Storm lake and love it. I though that is they were bringing out a factory hunting package it would be the stuff.

Glock sold a combo gun with stock and 6in barrel. Cabelas was a big seller. I have not seen any of those in about a year.
Bob, more pics.
Factory 6" barrels been around a good long while. I got one, but have not seen any benefit from it over the stock length. Some guys report really good vels/results with them, I just haven't seen enough to warrant "me" draaging along the extra length. Nothing wrong with it, I just haven't liked it to much.
I will admit to really good accuracy at 100yds for deer with it using a beartooth 200gr hard cast bullet at 1300fps. It shoots them really well, and is my favorite barrel 'with those bullets', in the accuracy department.
You may warm up to it.. Give it a try if ya want, then you'll know pard.
I need one of those
I've had one on my G20 for 15 years or so. I usually use this as a night stand gun, and my elk hunting side arm. I've noticed about a 50-75fps velocity gain from it. Naturally, the biggest boost is with the slower powders.
I still CC my G20 and am too lazy to change the barrel to do it...yes, I carry my G20 with the 6". It's really not that big of a deal... it's already a big freakin' gun - another 1.4" of barrel length doesn't matter to me, and I'm only 5'10" 150 lbs.
