I just bought a Gen3 G19 from a person today. It was an older glock that was in great shape but from what he included in the package I wasn't to sure if it was a good deal or not. So what do you think?

    gen3 G19 Serial "DWX...US" Manufacture date 10/16/2000
2 pin take down style with the straight style extractor
    3 10rd Factory Mags
    Night Sights
    250rds of American eagle FMJ
and the old Tupperware style box with paperwork.
    $450

Doesn't seem like a bad deal with the extra mag and ammo and night sights. As long as you are happy that's all that matters. I would have bought it.

Why 10 round mags though? What state are you in?

Good deal.... Basically you picked up a nice Gen 3 for $370, not too shabby.

Clinton mags are not so cool, but ya gotta play the hand you got dealt.

Not a bad deal, are the night sights still bright. The rounds itself would be another $60 out of pocket plus extra mag $25 to $30, so Id say yes (without looking at the gun). Did you have to pay the transfer fee, if not then even more so a good deal.

Thanks for the reply Guys I feel a bit better buying it since I'm not a glock veteran.

Just curious; since you were able to look up the manufacture date so precisely. Does it have a smooth faced extractor? Or is it like the current Glocks with the little chamber indicator step?

I found out the date from calling glock and it has a smooth face extractor.

Is the smooth face extractor bad?

No its not bad, it just doesn't indicate a loaded chamber by sticking slightly out (unless I'm in for an education).

I asked because I recently bought a 22C of about the same vintage (it has a smooth faced extractor), and I couldn't determine it's age exactly in the serial # project thread, cause it's 1st 3 digits aren't listed. I think this might help a bit. Thanks.

Yes call glock and tell the operator that you want to check how old your pistol is and she will transfer you to a guy who will tell you exactly the date it was made. I had the same problem as you because mine was not listed as well. CS at glock fixed that in less than a minute.
    Good luck!

Just call Glock... what an idea. It'll be the 1st time for me, I didn't realize it could be so easy (hand slaps forehead)
