Hello. I am thinking about getting a set of these for my 2nd Gen G17 which will primarily be used as a range gun. It currently has a set of night sights and the front sight is held in by a hex bolt. Does the truglo also use a hex bolt for the front sight? Does anyone have experience installing them?

These are the fiber optic only version, no tritium.

They also sell these sight tools:

Are they compatable with the truglo's?

I was planning on re-using the old night sights on my G21 or G30 if possible.

    Thanks for all the help.

    1) Based on the images at the link you provided, they have it bass ackwards... The brighter green FO should go to the front--at least that's the conventional wisdom. :headscratch:

    2) Your .45 caliber Glocks use a different rear sight than your 9 mm does... :eyebrow:

    Good luck! :wavey:

Thanks for the info. I don't need the TFO's, just fiber optic only. They are out of my price range. As for my original question, does the truglo front site use a hex bolt and has anyone installed them?

    I wasn't recommending TFOs...

To "peruse" the sight means to dig into it a bit and look around, as they have plain fiber optic sights too--including TruGlo.

the tfo sights are great. if i remember correctly when i installed, i think my front glock sight had a really small nut on it which i then used on the tfos. it was tough to tighten but well worth it when done. nice and bright day and night

Thanks for all the replies. I ended up ordering the standard truglo sights from my first post. I took the G17 to the range this morning and did pretty good with the night sights. Hopefully the fiber optics will help my aim even more.
