G-38 gap

    Mas, I've gotta ask, even though I own and consider a G-30 a great gun. The GAP? Would the cartridge provide any more of an advantage over a .45 ACP, from any manufacture of ammunition or bullet weight.

    Would you consider the GAP more effective? Or provide less recoil? What's your latest opinion of the GAP.

    Needless to say, I feel the GAP is very under appreciated vrs. the .45 ACP. Grip size is a non-issue. How does this round compare? Thank you so much, your very appreciated.

    Ballistically, the .45 GAP is roughly equivalent to .45 ACP in the latter's standard pressure loadings.

    .45 ACP advantages: available in more platforms, and ammo much more readily available; also, hotter +P versions are available.

    .45 GAP advantages, primarily, is shorter overall length allowing it to be chambered in pistols previously limited to 9X19 or equivalent length cartridges.
