The shame of it all is of course that the majority of those wealthy French will emigrate here to the U.S. where they will face the same damed thing in a few years.

That's why we just need a world government with world taxation.

Rich dont remain static. Theyre mobile. They move their cheese when idiot politicians are afoot. The politicians might think theyre the hammer and everything else is a nail to whack. Surprise.

Mobility is one of the greatest motivators to achieve wealth.
  7. To France's Prime Minister: Time for a quote from John Wayne........."Life is tough, life is tougher when you are stupid".

It is all about cause and effect. duh.

It hurts my eyes to read this...

"We cannot fight poverty if those with the most, and sometimes with a lot, do not show solidarity and a bit of generosity," he added

Generosity is when my money is given freely. The tax situation they are unveiling is outright theft.

The most damning statement here is "and sometimes with a lot" which basically means...sure I want to screw over the rich...but this is only the begining.

Well, there's your tame sheep in the meadow, eating grass grown by someone else, led by an appointed shepherd who get sheared on a regular basis. There are a lot of these sheep around. Good Sheep.

Then there's your crafty, harder than hell to catch Wild sheep, who live up in the higher elevations, eat what they can, are quite nimble with great eyesight and have evolved to avoid their enemies. Successful and elusive, but damn few of them. Bad Sheep.

Which ones are the wolves better at eating alive? I bet old "sour Grapes" wolf says bad things about the elusive others as well. I would also bet the meadowed sheep and their shepherd probably don't have many nice things to say about those mountain sheep who don't play fair, as well.

    C'est la Vie.

Wait for the law that allows you to leave, but keep your wealth here.
Plus you forfeit that wealth if you don't return within a year or two.

Coming to a country near you.

It'll be a big blip on the personal radar of those 30 employees.

The Repubilcans should hold a press conference tell the Nation they will give Obama what he wants, and Obama will also own the results.I bet the Democrats would yell foul about that also. The Dems.,want the Republicans to be on board in a deal in some way that they(Dems.) could blame the Republicans for the failure that is sure to follow.

Rich people, and everybody else not on the gubmint tit who strive for financial betterment, don't want a huge % of their earnings confiscated. It's no secret. The problem is the "it's not me" syndrome. Folks don't seem to realize it will affect them, trickle down, and/or eventually they will be the next on the chopping block.

Looks like Will ain't as jiggy with it as he thought.

Liberals don't get that there is certain tax limit, beyond which, people, one way or the other, legal or illegal, just won't pay.

    Even if it means emigrating.

Shocking new isn't it? Didn't this just happen in the UK where a bunch of "rich" just disappeared?

"Announcing plans to spend up to 2.5 billion euros by 2017 to help the poor, Mr Ayrault said that poverty affected 12.9 percent of the population in 2002 and rose to 14.1 percent in 2010." No mention of addressing the root casue. Putzes there, putzes here. Looters!

Where do they think they're going to defect to?

Have you ever seen the embarrassment in his wife's face when he speaks in public? It is priceless.
