I get a heads up before answering the door. But generally go armed unless it is a friend.

Sweet. I have to look out the window/peephole.

Odds are being the former chief he took an anti-gun policy stance especially considering it's a third-world city like Detroit.

    Karma anyone?

Sound like confirmation of the other Detroit crime thread here in GT.

Who would rob a guy mowing his grass? Now they know.

Usually they only take that stance for "civilians", but I'll bet you are correct.

I always have flashes of some movie where an ice pick came piercing through that peephole. :whistling:

Locals dumb enough to rob the former Chief can't be too bright.
I wouldn't want to be them when they get busted.

Not to long ago, there was a
Young man shot through a peephole.

    I still have one.

In the past, I have read of people getting robbed while setting out their trash and cutting their lawns.

Recently, it has been on the News that people will knock on your door and attempt to keep you busy, while somebody else breaks into the back of the house to rob you.

Years ago, when I lived in Cleveland a lady down the street had her house robbed while she was in the front of the house attending her flower garden. She left the back door unlocked.
